Now let's discuss the options for eBay Real Estate. If you are selling an item in
eBay's Real Estate category check the box labeled "Real Estate" to enable the calculator's eBay Real Estate options.
eBay pretty much breaks down all Real Estate sold on it's site into two different categories. One is
Timeshare, Land and Manufactured Homes, and the other is
Residential, Commercial & Other Real Estate. Each come with their own unique fee structure.
If you are selling Real Estate in the first category (Timeshare, Land and
Manufactured Homes), select the radio button labeled Timeshares / Land, or if you are selling eBay's other
kind of Real Estate (Residential, Commercial & Other Real Estate), select the second option
labeled Other Real Estate. By specifying to the calculator which type of Real Estate you are selling it allows it to
accurately display the approriate fees for that type of Real Estate to you. One important note I have to point out about
eBay's Real Estate category is that the choice of auction lengths (durations) that eBay gives you is a little different.
Normally, eBay allows you to choose from a 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 day auction, but with eBay Real Estate you can choose from
a 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 30, or 90 day listing. eBay also gives you two different listing
formats. One is called the Auction Format and the other is called the Ad Format. The
Auction Format allows bidding on your property whereas the Ad Format simply exists to
advertise your property and to generate leads. Each listing format carries a different fee structure. In eBCalc, you
choose the length and type of your auction's duration from the Duration dropdown. The
Duration dropdown allows you to choose from all of the different available auction durations in eBay
Real Estate (including both Auction Format and Ad Format type listings).
Also, it's important to point out that eBay Real Estate does not have a Final Value Fee, instead they have
something called a Notice Fee. This Notice Fee is only charged for Real Estate listed
in the Auction Format in the Timeshares, Land and Manufactured Homes category. It
is not a percentage of the closing amount (as Final Value Fees are), but rather a fixed amount.
