The Gallery Featured listing upgrade is often very confusing for new users. I know I was
confused by it when I first signed up with eBay. People often hear the word
Gallery and the word
Featured and they automatically assume that
Gallery Featured is simply a combination of the two. But alas, it is not. The
Gallery Featured listing upgrade works almost exactly like the
Featured Plus! listing upgrade but rather than placing
your item in the "Featured" section of "List View" search results, it places your item in the "Featured" section
of "Gallery View" search results.
You may be wondering, what is this "Gallery View" thing anyway? Well, "Gallery View" is simply a
way of displaying items on the screen (Note: it is also sometimes called the "Picture Gallery". "Gallery View" and
"Picture Gallery" are actually the same thing. You may hear me use the two interchangably). When eBay displays search
results to you, it can display them to you in one of two ways, either in "List View" or in "Gallery View". The "List
View" is the normal, default way of viewing search results on eBay. When you're viewing search results in "List View"
you will see a link at the top of the search results entitled "Gallery View" (or it also may be entitled "Picture
Gallery"). If you click on that link it will display your results in "Gallery View". In "Gallery View", rather than
displaying one item per line eBay display two items per line and shows you an enlarged
Gallery images of the items. Some people prefer this view
because they can see in more detail what each item looks like.
When you use the Gallery Featured listing upgrade your item is placed in the "Featured"
section of "Gallery View" search results but not in the "Featured" section of "List View" search results. Also, you
will notice with eBCalc that when you choose the Gallery Featured listing upgrade, the
Gallery upgrade gets disabled. This is because the
Gallery Featured listing upgrade includes a Gallery picture with your item so there is no need to
pay the additional fee for the regular Gallery upgrade. Here is an example of a real world listing
